
Florida - Charlotte Harbor
| In March, 2004 we chartered a boat to cruise some of Southwest Florida's barrier islands. Our charter began at Burnt Store Marina at Punta Gorda. We found Pelican Bay off Cayo Costa to be a great anchorage from which to base our explorations. Our one night in a marina was at Useppa Island. Cayo Costa is a state park. We used the dinghy to explore the eastern shore and to see a little of the island - especially the Northwestern beach. Compare the chart here with the one at the beginning of the San Juans photos. The depths on the San Juans chart are shown in fathoms (1 fathom = 6 feet) The depths shown below are in feet. | |
